It is a gift to my grandson who enjoys catching insects, snakes and frogs. The kit has all the tools for catching, examining and holding whatever he catches.

It’s a nice set for a young child!
I got this for my 4yo son and it’s perfect for him. The tools/bag are a good size for him to handle without help and now he can keep up with his older sisters who have their own bug/exploration kits. The bag is a quality canvas and is a bit thicker than I was expecting, a pleasant surprise.As one of the other reviewers notes, not everything will bit in the bag. I’m able to fit the bug container and the tools, including the collapsed net. This is just fine because the “cage” has its own carrying handle. So, he’s able to pack up and roll out with just his own two hands. Will these tools last until his grandchildren use them? Of course not. Will the last until he outgrows them in a few years? Almost certainly.

Opened this gift at the birthday party and pieces were broken within a minute. The door to the bug cage fell off. The grippers broke apart. The satchel is nice but otherwise I would skip this purchase.

Great kids exploring kit!
This was the perfect gift for my 6 year old. She loves to catch things and observe them. The net is great as it has an extension handle so she can reach places out of her reach. The net is large so easy to trap frogs and lizards. The small cage is perfect for holding her catches. Everything is plastic and I can predict it will not hold up for long. The canvas bag is really nice, but sort of small to hold everything that comes with. For a fun adventure set it works, just not a high quality item.

Bought it as a gift and the kid is very happy with it He catched a huge spider in the first minutes after receiving it! The cases/cages are a bit flimsy, but the overall quality is perfect for the price, so I won’t remove any points. Nice carry bag too!
