Solid, Inexpensive, Attention to Detail
Though this might be overlooked by the ultra lighters out there, the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set is a staple in the camping/backpacking world. In my opinion, you have two safe choices of metal in camping cookware: stainless steel or titanium. I would suggest steering clear of anodized aluminum (there’s a possible research link to Alzheimer’s…why take the chance?)Stainless steel is inexpensive, but heavy. Titanium is light, but expensive. The Stanley is great for me, as I don’t mind the weight. I tossed the two plastic nestling cups that come with it in favor of storing my stove, fuel, cleaning towel, and eating utensil inside instead. I use the Stanley in conjunction with a GSI stainless steel cup that nestles well with it. The lid for the Stanley fits perfectly as a lid for the GSI Cup, as well.Speaking of the lid, the attention to detail on the Stanley is actually amazing, considering pots far more expensive don’t usually have the perks that the Stanley does. The lid has a plastic flip-up finger handle that stays up perfectly on its own. There are also drain holes in the lid. There are measurements marked on the outside, but not on the inside. However the marks are stamped, so you can still see them from the inside…just reversed. No big deal, really. The handle is strong and acts as a firm/reliable closure when it’s locked into its folded position.Overall, the Stanley is a quality product at a terrific price. I love mine and would easily recommend it.

Great Cookset for the price!
I am amazed at how cheap this actually is from Amazon (at time of review, $17 + FSSS). I picked up one and decided to give it a whirl with the 3.9oz backpacking stove. Right now my cookset is comprised of the following:GSI 18oz Cup/Pot (the Stanley lid will fit the GSI cup as well – paracord shrouded handles)Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set (took out the two green cups)Condor H2O pouchOptimus Long Handle Titanium SpoonLMF Spork in bright yellow3.9oz Camp stove with Piezo IgnitionBrunton remote stove stand (and windscreen – for winter camping the remote allows you to place the canister upside down to aid in vaporization of fuel and the windscreen can go around the stove)Jetboil 100g canisterSnowpeak 450 Single Wall Titanium Cup (paracord shrouded handles)Universal beer coozy (I got for free from some ESPN tailgate event, it’s like those old slap bracelets from middle school except with foam – to go around the titanium cup to keep liquids warm for drinking and/or for wrapping around the gas canister to keep it from getting too cold in the winter)Domino strike-anywhere matches in a matchsafeSmall bic lighterThis setup was really created for two, but I also use it on my solo outings since it’s all contained in the H2O pouch. I also carry a Guyot Designs steel 32oz bottle with a Humangear Capcap on top. I carry the steel bottle instead of a regular nalgene so I can, if I need to, just toss the whole bottle (minus the cap) into a fire to heat water. I’m not a “light backpacker” by any means, but all of that stuff in one contained kit isn’t very heavy and it lashes pretty easily to my ALICE/MOLLE Hellcat pack.So I tried this just in my backyard, covered in about a foot of snow as I’m in Ohio, and it works insanely well for it’s small packing size. The following is how I nested my items. In the main compartment condor pouch:GSI Cup/Pot (cook set nested in cup)Stanley Adventore Camp Cook SetJetboil Canister (inside cook set – bottom)Measuring cup I had laying around that’s the same diameter as the cook set turned upside down over canisterMatchsafe (marbles)StoveLid to cook setSnowpeak Titanium Cup (all items after this are contained inside the cup)Salt/pepper shakerTwo bottles tabasco (mre sized)Bottle of dish soapCoozyThen in the pocket of the Condor pouch:WindscreenBrunton remote stove standLMF Spork in bright yellowSmall eye-dropper of bleach for water purifyingSmall BIC lighterAgain, this was set up for two BUT it also makes an incredible solo winter kit too. Everything is covered, and in redundancy if you’re solo. I need to cut a little piece of green brillo to keep in it, but otherwise it’s darn near perfect. If you’re wondering about anything, just ask. I know that as I use it more I will likely make changes, but for now, it works well.

Awesome Camp Cookset
This stanley cookset is absolutely awesome, especially for the price. I would have paid double the actual price and still been happy with my purchase. Once you get this item in your hands, you will notice how high quality and rugged the construction is.The set includes:1 stainless steel cooking mug1 stainless steel mug top2 plastic 10 oz cupsCOOKING MUGThis consists of a rugged stainless steel construction and feels like it will take an absolute beating. it also has measurements on the side that range from 8oz to 20 oz that are spaced out by 4 oz increments. This is handy for knowing how much to heat up to fill the two 10 oz cups. Also, the mug has a folding handle that is long enough to be away from the fire so it doesn not get too hot. This folding handle also locks the top in place while you are storing it at your house or in your pack. It may be a little narrow for some stoves as reported, but it works great with the MSR Pocket Rocket which is, in my opinion, the best camp stove out there. The cup is also wide enough to fit the smaller fuel cans inside. But if you do this, the two cups will not fit.MUG TOPThis is also stainless steel and is made to the same quality as the mug. It has a few tiny holes at the top for steam to escape and a ruberized pull tab at the top for removal when hot. This tab also locks the top in place when the swing arm is over the top for stowing. By having a top, you can boil water faster and, consequently, save the fuel you bring along with you. It is a very convinient and user friendly design.CUPSBoth cups are 10 oz and are insulted and built very well. They are BPA free and fit right into the mug for compactable storage. They do not get too hot when boiling liquids are added because of the thickness and insulative properties. This system will give you boiling water in under 5 minutes with a stove, which is not bad at all. It is very economical in every sense of the word: it saves gas, boils quickly, and costs very little for what you get. The snow peak titanium cookset costs $40 and does not come with small cups and the cup itself is considerably smaller. Thats just an idea of how good this value is. Great product for campers and I highly recommend this cookset.

Camping pot
This has been a life saver to me! A small pot and two insulated cups. Perfect for a can of soup or to make fresh tea. Hot water to wash with! Thinking of buying some more products from Stanley. Really durable products. Real American work.

After seeing this in backpack loadout videos from Nick Goldsmith of Hidden Valley Bushcraft, I knew I had to add it to my camping and outdoor kit as well.I love the way the handle locks into place both when opened and closed. The lid has two sections of holes in it, one with multiple holes for straining water from items inside (like past for example) but also has one with a few holes so that heat and steam can still escape when draining.I absolutely love the quality, durability, function and look of Stanley and proudly own several other items made by them (Adventure Full Kitchen Base Camp Cookset, Classic Lunch Box 9.5 L/10 qt., Classic Stay Hot French Press 1.4 L/48 oz., Classic Trigger-Action Travel Mug 0.59 L/20 oz., Classic Legendary Food Jar 0.7 L/24 oz.) and, for the record, I have been a fan of their items since they were synonymous with the Aladdin name. Yes, some of their products seem to be trendy now, but they really are high quality, durable and will last you for many years of camping, outdoor and/or day-to-day use.The Stanley Adventure cup also works perfectly with the older style Nalgene Stainless Steel Wide Mouth ‘Backpacker’ Bottle 0.9L and they nest perfectly inside the Stanley Adventure cup. Unfortunately, those tapered Nalgenes are no longer available except for a few obscure sites online, as they have been replaced with the newer straight-sided 38 oz./1.1 L.I will update when I have put it through its paces but if it is like the other items I own, it will perform flawlessly and I am excited to add this to my camping and outdoor kit.
